The Probate Judge’s office is also responsible for many administrative duties which include: the recording of instruments (such as deeds, mortgages and marriage certificates), maintaining records, accepting applications for passports, and the issuing of licenses (such as driver’s license renewal, boat license, business license, hunting and fishing license).

Registrations
New businesses may purchase a business license anytime during the year by filling out a business license application and delivering it in person to the Courthouse or Hayden Probate Office. Blount County does not require a county business license.The probate office issues license on behalf of the State of Alabama. If your business is located in one of the county’s municipalities, you may also need to purchase a license from the town.
